 Finlandia Foundation National, will be the keynote speaker..

150th Anniversary of the Birth of Sibelius
Monday at 8:00 PM

        Ossi Rahkonen is the President of the Finlandia        

        Foundation National (FFC).  The local chapter is        

        Finlandia Foundation CHapter (FFNCC).  Ossi will tell        

        us why Jean Sibelius is important to Finlandia        

        Foundation in this year of his 150th Anniversary.  He        

        will speak about the number of Sibelius events in the        

        US in 2015, the number of Sibelius events Finlandia        

        Foundation National is sponsoring in 2015, and the         

        number of Sibelius events in the DC Metropolitan        

        area in 2015.  There will be a video about the early        

        years of Sibelius which will show us why his music        

        played such an important role for Finland.  We will        

        hear the Sibelius Symphony #5, conducted by Esa Pekka        

        Salonen and learn why it is important in 2015.
